Interpretive Trail System

The outdoor trail, originally developed in 2012, has evolved into a seven-classroom space that offers hands-on learning in areas like carpentry, project management, and environmental stewardship, with strong community involvement and support from partners like Dalhousie and Mount Allison Universities. Students have built boardwalks, bridges, and an observation deck, making the trail both functional and educational, with signage that connects visitors to local biodiversity. Future plans include linking the classrooms to academic and cultural teachings, creating an immersive environment for science, history, and Indigenous knowledge.

The Tobique Youth Council empowers high school students to be agents of change in their community. This dedicated group is actively involved in fundraising efforts and community projects, with their current goal of attending WE Day in Halifax. By participating in the Youth Council, members gain leadership experience, communication skills, and a strong sense of civic duty, all while making a lasting impact on the community.

Tower Gardens

The Tower Gardens project puts the power of agriculture into the hands of elementary students, teaching them how to grow fresh produce right in their school. Beyond the hands-on experience of nurturing plants, students contribute to their school’s healthy meal options by using the produce they grow in the cafeteria. This project fosters a deep understanding of sustainability and food systems while encouraging healthy eating habits and environmental responsibility from a young age.
